New Wine United Breaks Out at St Chads 29th July to 3rd August 2021
We are so excited about United Breaks Out this year. This page has all the information you need about how we as a Church are engaging with it
New Wine United Breaks Out at St Chads
This summer, more than ever before we need time with God and time with each other.
For many years groups from St Chads have attended NewWine’s summer event ‘United’ and worshipped, camped, chatted, laughed, prayed and eaten together. These events have given us some of the most precious and life-changing moments of our lives and our childrens’ lives. This year, all that comes home to St Chads. We can enjoy and encounter together with no travel and a choice whether to camp or not.
New Wine is offering the main worship and teaching sessions and all the youth and children’s material for United Breaks Out for free. Last year we had a fantastic weekend of content watched at home as we were locked down. This year, NewWine has had longer to plan, prepare and produce great content and we can enjoy it together. Locally we are going to show the worship & teaching for adults, youth and kids in three venues and also have the option to eat, play games, chat late into the evening and even camp together in the Goddards’ garden. Here are more details on each of those:
Kids :11am-12.45pm
We will be showing the New Wine Kids sessions each morning in the LifeCentre. The children will join the adults in church for the 11am sessions and then a team will take them over to the LifeCentre, to join in with the UBO sessions and if time have some activities together, before being brought back to church. We will need a team of parents to share the responsibility of overseeing the kids groups & transporting them to and from church. This is open to children from reception to yr6 (school year 2020-21) . We don’t have provision for pre-schoolers but will have the TV screens on in the church foyer for families with pre-schoolers.
Youth (Luminosity): - 11-12am & 7-8.30pm
There are morning and evening sessions from Thurs pm to Tues am for youth. We will be showing these in the Goddards’ ‘Shed’ (it’s a very big lovely space). We will have a small team of adults supporting the young people, but it will be their time and space with God and in the afternoons & evenings they’ll have plenty of social time together. There will be other sessions available too online, including afternoon workshops.
Adults: 11-12.45pm & 7-8.30pm
We will be showing all the morning and evening sessions in our church building. (Thurs pm to Tues pm) The morning sessions will include worship, Bible teaching, ministry response and a keynote talk. In the mornings Children will join us to worship and then head to their group.
Sunday morning
We will be using the UBO content for our Sunday services. We will have a 9.30am Communion service with a NewWine talk as the sermon, 11am will run as the other mornings of UBO. (Youth at Goddards, kids in LifeCentre, Adults in Church)
Further information
Helping
We are doing UBO together, this is a church family event, we are all on team!! So along with booking we will be asking in what way you would like to serve and give everyone an opportunity to be part of serving one another.
Social Programme
Thursday night: We would love to invite all who have joined St Chads in the past 2 years to a welcome drinks reception after the evening session on Thursday. We want to get to know you and for you to meet some of our church family.
The core venue for socialising from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon will be the Goddards’ garden. Very convenient for youth, adults & children can pop back to Romiley for morning & evening sessions.
Camping
For those who love to camp and socialise into the night we are going to invite you to camp in the Goddards’ garden, from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. (Included in booking)
Meals
Eating together is a great way to build community and saves us all rushing home to cook. For those camping we will cater together for breakfast and tea (lunch will be down to you) with hot & cold drinks available throughout the day at the Goddards’. For those not camping we would love you to join us for tea on Friday-Sunday. We will coordinate teams to do catering (we’ll be asking you!)
Final night party
The whole event will round off with a party in the vicarage garden on Tues 3rd August.
Costs
Tickets for worship & teaching sessions are free, we will be taking up an offering for the work of NewWine during the event. For those camping we will ask for a contribution of £20 per person for the full weekend (£15 for under 11s) to cover facilities and meal costs. For those joining for individual meals we will ask for £5 per person/day (£3 for under 11s) for these.
Booking
We have a maximum allocation of tickets for adults (Covid restrictions) and need to have details of all under 18s planning to come. We are therefore asking you to book (free) tickets in advance for all sessions you intend to attend. This can be done through Eventbrite for all the sessions you plan to come to, cancellations later are possible by emailing Elle directly.
Booking deadline will be 15th July.
