Chads News - 10th July 2025

Dear Church family,

Don’t worry you haven’t overslept for a week!  We are breaking our fortnightly pattern for Chads News, because we have a lot coming up in the next week and then we’ll send you a summer special on 24thJuly before the August break.

First of all, a huge thanks to our young people and youth team for the brilliant ‘Youth Takeover’ on Sunday at 11am.  They spoke with such depth of insight into God’s Word and led with real maturity and confidence.  We had a very different service at 9.15am focussing on Romans 12.14 ‘Bless those who persecute you’, we took time to pray for the Persecuted Church and watched 3 very moving videos from our mission partners Open Doors. (I thoroughly recommend the video stories on their website https://www.opendoorsuk.org)  Along with some wonderful friendship building through ‘Gather and Share’, it was a hugely encouraging Sunday.

Secondly, I’d love to encourage you to be praying for the group of 80+ people from St Chads heading to NewWine Festival at the end of July.  Please pray for life changing encounters with God and great time of deepening friendships for all generations.  NewWine is our Mission Partner of the Month for July, so please also pray for the NewWine team in preparation for the festival.  Due to so many being away at the start of August, as is our usual pattern, there will be just one Sunday service on 3rd August, which will be a parish communion at 9.15am

I’ll keep this short, as there’s a lot to read in the pages that follow, including a reminder to come along to Great Big Green Day, to get involved in 100hrs prayer and much, much more.

With love,

Richard
